How to Get Rid of Blackheads

Almost everyone  has them, everyone hates them. Well, blackheads are one of the biggest skin problems that girls/woman face. They appear on your chin, cheeks but most of all your nose. A few months ago i faced my skin problem and honestly i really don’t know how many hours I’ve spent in front of a mirror squeezing one blackhead after another and it didn’t help, they would always come back. So i did my research and found a lot of helpful tips and tricks. Now, I’m really proud to say that i USED to struggle with them myself, but this is how i got rid of them:

If you feel the need to squeeze your blackheads, please follow my tips below, before you start picking on your face:

1)Wash your face with a gentle facial scrub(i.e. Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating™ Daily Scrub ). It helps to eliminate most blackheads, to prevent new ones and to clean pores. It also makes your skin softer than it was before.

2) Cover your face – with a warm, wet cloth for 10 to 15 minutes (helps to open your pores) and once complete, dry the face with a towel. If this doesn’t work out for you, it also works good if you try to remove them after a shower.

3) Then cover your index fingers – of both hands with a tissue and use gentle pressure to press down then up around the sides of the blackhead. Don’t get frustrated if nothing happens, the blackhead is probably not ready to come out yet. Wait a few daysand try it again. The most important thing is to be careful and please don’t use your nails or press too hard, it can damage your skin and it might even lead to scars and sometimes it leaves a gaping hole and some of them will never close up again. After you remove the blackheads, clean the area, because the pore can get infected – NEVER pleasant. A Q-tip with rubbing alcohol works fine.

4) Makeup – If you try to cover up your blackheads with make up or heavy foundations, you could easily cause more of them! The trick is to use Oil-free-foundations, powder, blushes and cocealers. Also, consider using as few products as you can.

5) Clay masks once a week – This is for all the ladies out there who have either oily or combination skin. As you may know, blackheads are caused by excess oil on your face, so you should consider to buy a clay mask every once in a while and i promise, it’ll help you to sop up the grease and to keep your pores clearer. Use it once a week – you don’t want to over-dry your skin, because this could lead to even more problems!

Two “anti-blackhead” products you may have heard about, but you shouldN’T use:

A) Pore Strips – First of all, they damage your skin. Second of all, they don’t even help, you won’t get rid of them by using them and trust me … they DO hurt. Third, after using them, you’re going to look like Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer and last, they’re pretty expensive.

B) Blackhead creams – Most of those creams aggravate your skin because of the harsh ingredients they use.
